To help one child is to change the world

Mummy Jee  received France’s highest civilian honour, “the Legion of Honour”.

A ceremony was organized at the French Embassy to honour Mummy Jee for her commitment to deepening France-India relations, international peace and cooperation and her tireless efforts to educate poor children while living in India. The medal ceremony was given in New Delhi Embassy by French H.E. Ambassador Thierry Mathou, assisted by H. Didier Talpain, French Consul at Kolkata.

After honouring the award French Ambassador, hon. Thierry Mathou said that “Dr. Jeanne Pere has set an example as a mother by working among poor children”. She has been seen in many roles in a single lifetime. While receiving the award Mummy Jee has dedicated this medal with respect to all members and benefactors of Mummy Jee Trust. She expressed a heartiest “thank you” to the donors who generously supported the work along the way: and told that “without them nothing could have been done.” She also addressed the benefit of this merit to her family who encouraged and supported her with great affection to serve humanity despite long distance separation.
